FFTea is a real time high resolution spectrum analyser for MacOS X. It was born as a debugging tool for a sound driver. Then it degenerated into something that eats enough CPU, memory and graphic card power to be worthy of release to the unsuspecting world.

It is a surprisingly interesting way to “look” at music: you can see the tempo, melody, bass lines, various instruments (and their harmonics) and balance just at a glance. In fact with a little training you can read very interesting things in there. It’s also an invaluable tool to pick out stray frequencies, noise sources, clicks and artifacts from a mix.

Since I switched to MAC I wanted to give FFTea a try.
But unfortunately the author discontinued the software and cancelled the download possibilities.
Is there anybody out there who could send me FFTea via email?
    That would be great!
    Thanks a lot,

    t0bY!

I am looking for an audio spectrum analysis tool for my ibook to try to optimize the comfort and utiliity of my girlfriend’s hearing aid. background sounds in the car and her work environment are physically painful and stressful. I would appreciate any advice on mic selection or software selection that might optimize my ability.
